Hey there! I'm Taz, the proud owner of Otaku Plants.

I was born in South Africa, and my journey has taken me all over the world: from England to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, then to Ohio, followed by Minnesota (where I met my husband Nick, and we had two wonderful kids—Reilly, 10, and Torin, 8), and finally, we settled in Virginia.

What started as a hobby with my mom quickly grew into a passion, and before we knew it, we turned it into a shop. While I run the business, I also help sell some of my mom’s rare alocasia corms and plants. I'm so lucky to share this plant journey with her.

I also launched a YouTube channel, which has been a blast and incredibly rewarding. The support I get from all of you—viewers, followers, and customers—is truly heartwarming. You guys are amazing!

A little more about me—my sister also lives nearby in Virginia, and in fact, my mom and both my sisters are all within a mile of us! It’s such a blessing to have my family so close. We share a love for horse riding, which has been a lifelong passion of mine. I’ve been riding horses since I was a kid, and we used to compete in shows regularly.

We’ve been lucky enough to travel the world too! I’ve been to England, Thailand, the Maldives, Egypt, the Middle East, South Africa, and all across the United States. Growing up, my family did a lot of scuba diving around the globe, which was an unforgettable experience.
